This practical and reflective webinar will explore how teachers can create the conditions that encourage engagement, inspiration belonging, and sustained commitment. Many teachers encounter challenges with learner engagement at various points throughout the year, this session focuses on strategies that help prevent barriers to participation by building positive learning habits, relationships, and expectations. Aligned to the ETF Professional Standards for Teachers and Trainers, the session focuses on planning engaging learner-centred experiences, establishing inclusive and supportive learning environments, responding effectively to learner needs, and using reflective practice to continuously enhance teaching practice and learner outcomes.

Aim of event
During the webinar, we will examine what motivates post-16 learners, how inclusive and supporting learning environments can be established early and how effective lesson design can foster engagement, confidence and active participation.
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Identify key factors that influence engagement and motivation among post-16 learners
- Apply practical strategies within planning to create inclusive and positive learning environments that will promote participation from the start of the academic year
- Reflect on current practice and implement evidence-informed approaches to improve learner engagement, motivation, and retention
